I am very excited for my second year teaching Spanish at Rancho Mirage high school. My career as an educator has been built on my love of learning and teaching. I am originally from Colombia, where I studied and received a degree in Agriculture, and began my professional life as a farmer. I managed a dairy farm for nine years in Bogotá, before moving to England where I learned English as a second language. Upon returning to Colombia, I received my teaching degree and taught at The Columbus School, an American School in Medellín, where Spanish speakers learn English through an immersion program. At that time, I also received a master’s in Science at the State University of New York at Buffalo. I moved to California in 2004, and have dedicated myself to my studies and teaching in various districts. For the past eight years, I taught Spanish at Xavier College Preparatory high school. My favorite pastimes include watercolor painting, swimming, and gardening, walking, and riding my bike on weekends. I especially love traveling to Colombia almost every summer to visit my family.
